                      Mandatory Traffic Signs


🔴 Red circle sign = Kya Nahi Karna (Prohibition).

🔵 Blue circle sign = Kya Zaroori Hai Karna (Mandatory action).



🔴 Red Circle Sign - लाल गोल साइन (Prohibitory Signs – Kya Mana Hai)

  1. Stop (रुकिए) – Gaadi ko turant rokhna hai.

  2. Give Way (रास्ता दीजिए) – Doosre traffic ko pahle jane dena.

  3. No Entry (प्रवेश निषेध) – Aage se entry allowed nahi.

  4. Priority for Oncoming Traffic (आगे वाले यातायात को प्राथमिकता) – Saamne se aane wali gaadi ko rasta dena hoga.

  5. All Motor Vehicles Prohibited (सभी मोटर वाहनों का आना मना है) – Gaadi, scooter, bike sab mana hai.

  6. Truck Prohibited (ट्रक का आना मना है) – Truck entry allowed nahi.

  7. Bullock & Hand Cart Prohibited (बैलोंगाड़ी और हाथगाड़ी का आना मना है) – Bullock cart aur hand cart allowed nahi.

  8. Bullock Cart Prohibited (बैलोंगाड़ी का आना मना है) – Sirf bullock cart entry mana hai.

  9. Tongas Prohibited (टाँगों का आना मना है) – Tonga allowed nahi.

  10. Hand Cart Prohibited (हाथ गाड़ी का आना मना है) – Hand cart allowed nahi.

  11. Cycle Prohibited (साइकिल का आना मना है) – Cycle allowed nahi.

  12. Pedestrians Prohibited (पैदल यात्रियों का आना मना है) – Pedestrian allowed nahi.

  13. Right Turn Prohibited (दायाँ मुड़ना मना है) – Right turn lena mana hai.

  14. Left Turn Prohibited (बायाँ मुड़ना मना है) – Left turn lena mana hai.

  15. U-Turn Prohibited (यू-टर्न मना है) – U-turn lena mana hai.

  16. Overtaking Prohibited (ओवरटेक करना मना है) – Kisi vehicle ko cross nahi karna.

  17. Horn Prohibited (हॉर्न बजाना मना है) – Horn bajana allowed nahi.

  18. Width Limit (चौड़ाई सीमा) – Isse jyada चौड़ा vehicle allowed nahi.

  19. Height Limit (ऊँचाई सीमा) – Isse jyada ऊँचा vehicle allowed nahi.

  20. Length Limit (लंबाई सीमा) – Vehicle ki length restricted hai.

  21. Load Limit (भार सीमा) – Allowed weight limit se jyada load nahi.

  22. Axle Load Limit (एक्सल भार सीमा) – Har axle ka load limit.

  23. Speed Limit (गति सीमा) – Maximum speed limit fixed.

  24. No Parking (गाड़ी खड़ी करना मना है) – Vehicle park nahi kar sakte.

  25. No Stopping or Standing (गाड़ी रोकना मना है) – Vehicle stop karna bhi allowed nahi.

🔵 Blue Circle Sign - नीले गोल साइन (Mandatory Instructions – Kya Karna Hai)

  1. Compulsory Turn Left/Right (आगे बायें/दायें मुड़ना अनिवार्य) – Turn lena hi hoga.

  2. Compulsory Ahead Only (आगे जाना अनिवार्य) – Sirf seedha jaa sakte ho.

  3. Compulsory Ahead or Turn (आगे चलना या मुड़ना अनिवार्य) – Seedha ya turn lena hi hoga.

  4. Compulsory Keep Left (बायें चलना अनिवार्य) – Hamesha left side chalna.

  5. Compulsory Cycle Track (अनिवार्य साइकिल मार्ग) – Cycle ko sirf track par chalna hai.

  6. Compulsory Sound Horn (अनिवार्य हॉर्न बजाना) – Horn bajana compulsory hai (blind curve, narrow road par).

  7. Compulsory Minimum Speed (अनिवार्य न्यूनतम गति) – Kam se kam itni speed maintain karni hai.

  8. Restrictions End (रोध समाप्त) – Yahan se restrictions khatam.








               Cautionary (Warning) Traffic Signs

  • Ye sabhi warning signs hote hain jo driver ko aage ke road condition ya danger ke liye prepare karte hain.

  • Agar red triangle sign dikhe, toh speed slow karo, dhyaan se drive karo.


    • 🔺 Red Triangle Sign - लाल त्रिकोण वाले संकेत (Cautionary / Warning Signs)

    1. Right Hand Curve (दाहिना मोड़) – Aage road right mudta hai.

    2. Left Hand Curve (बायां मोड़) – Aage road left mudta hai.

    3. Right Hair Pin Bend (दाहिना घुमावदार मोड़) – Sharp right bend hai.

    4. Left Hair Pin Bend (बायां घुमावदार मोड़) – Sharp left bend hai.

    5. Right Reverse Bend (दाहिने मुड़कर फिर आगे) – Pehle right, phir left curve.

    6. Left Reverse Bend (बाएं मुड़कर फिर आगे) – Pehle left, phir right curve.

    7. Steep Ascent (खड़ी चढ़ाई) – Aage steep चढ़ाई hai.

    8. Steep Descent (सीधी ढलान) – Aage steep ढलान hai.

    9. Narrow Road Ahead (आगे रास्ता संकरा है) – Road patla ho jayega.

    10. Road Widens Ahead (आगे रास्ता चौड़ा है) – Road wide ho jayega.

    11. Narrow Bridge (संकरा पुल) – Bridge narrow hai.

    12. Slippery Road (फिसलन भरी सड़क) – Slippery surface, speed kam rakho.

    13. Loose Gravel (बिखरी बजरी) – Road par loose gravel (kachcha pathar) hai.

    14. Cycle Crossing (साइकिल क्रॉसिंग) – Yahan cycles cross kar sakti hain.

    15. Pedestrian Crossing (पैदल यात्री क्रॉसिंग) – Log road cross karenge.

    16. School Ahead (आगे स्कूल है) – School zone, speed kam karo.

    17. Traffic Signal (यातायात सिग्नल) – Aage signal hai, rukne ke liye prepare raho.

    18. Cattle (पशु) – Gai, bhains jaise janwar road par aa sakte hain.

    19. Ferry (नौका) – Nadi par ferry service ho sakti hai.

    20. Falling Rocks (पत्थर गिर सकते हैं) – Pahadi road par patthar girne ka danger.

    21. Dangerous Dip (खतरनाक गड्ढा) – Road par deep dip hai.

    22. Hump or Rough Road (ऊबर-खाबड़ सड़क) – Road uneven ya speed breaker hai.

    23. Barrier Ahead (आगे अवरोध) – Aage barrier (naka/check post) hai.

    24. Gap in Median (मध्य पट्टी में अंतर) – Divider me gap hai.

    25. Cross Road (चौराहा) – Crossroad aane wala hai.

    26. Side Road Left (बायीं ओर पार्श्व सड़क) – Left se road connect hoga.

    27. Side Road Right (दायीं ओर पार्श्व सड़क) – Right se road connect hoga.

    28. T-Intersection (टी-इंटरसेक्शन) – Road yahan end ho kar T shape banata hai.

    29. Y-Intersection (वाई-इंटरसेक्शन) – Road Y shape me split hota hai.

    30. Staggered Intersection (विषम सड़क संगम) – Road uneven angle pe milta hai.

    31. Staggered Intersection (दूसरा प्रकार) – Do alag jagah par intersection.

    32. Round About (गोल चक्कर) – Aage roundabout hai.

    33. Quayside or River Bank (नदी किनारा) – Nadi ka kinara hai, girne ka khatra.

    34. Road Work (सड़क का कार्य) – Road construction chal raha hai.

    35. Un-guarded Level Crossing (मानवरहित रेलवे क्रॉसिंग) – Railway crossing bina gate ke.

    36. Guarded Level Crossing (मानवरक्षित रेलवे क्रॉसिंग) – Railway crossing par gate/manned barrier hai.








                         Informatory Traffic Signs

  • Green Boards → Rasta aur jagah ka direction.

  • Blue Boards → Facilities (hospital, food, rest, bus stop, railway, telephone).

  • Blue Parking Signs → Kis vehicle ke liye parking available hai.



    • 🟩 Green Board Sign - हरे बोर्ड वाले संकेत (Direction / Place Identification Signs)

    1. Advance Direction Sign (अभिमार्गदर्शक गंतव्य चिह्न) – Aage ke raste aur jagah batata hai.

    2. Advance Destination Sign on Rotary (गोलचक्कर चौराहे पर गंतव्य का चिह्न) – Roundabout par kis raste se kahan jana hai.

    3. Advance Direction Sign with Distances (अभिमार्गदर्शक गंतव्य चिह्न दूरी सहित) – Jagah ke saath distance bhi likha hota hai.

    4. Direction Sign (दिशा चिह्न) – Arrow sign jo jagah aur distance batata hai.

    5. Confirmatory Sign (प्रमाणित चिह्न) – Dikhata hai ki aap sahi raste par ho.

    6. Place Identification Sign (स्थान पहचान चिह्न) – City ya location ka naam.

    7. Petrol Pump (पेट्रोल पंप) – Petrol/diesel station ka sign.

    🟦 Blue Board Sign - नीले बोर्ड वाले संकेत (Facilities / Services Signs)

    1. Hospital (अस्पताल) – Hospital nearby.

    2. First Aid Post (प्राथमिक उपचार केंद्र) – Emergency medical help.

    3. Eating Place (भोजन स्थान) – Restaurant/food available.

    4. Light Refreshment (अल्पाहार) – Tea/coffee/snacks available.

    5. Resting Place (विश्राम स्थल) – Rest area for travelers.

    6. No Thorough Road (सड़क बंद है) – Dead end, aage road band hai.

    7. Bus Stop (बस स्टॉप) – Bus stop ka location.

    8. Railway Station (रेलवे स्टेशन) – Railway station nearby.

    9. Public Telephone (सार्वजनिक टेलीफोन) – Telephone booth available.

    10. Tunnel Ahead (आगे सुरंग है) – Aage tunnel hai.

    11. Pedestrian Subway (पैदल यात्री सबवे) – Underpass/subway for walking.

    1. Park Both Sides (दोनों दिशाओं में गाड़ी खड़ी करने की जगह) – Parking allowed both sides.

    2. Parking Lot Cycles (साइकिल खड़ी करने की जगह) – Parking for bicycles.

    3. Parking Lot Cycle Rickshaws (साइकिल रिक्शा खड़ी करने की जगह) – Parking for cycle rickshaw.

    4. Parking Lot Scooters & Motor Cycles (स्कूटर व मोटर साइकिल खड़ी करने की जगह) – Parking for two-wheelers.

    5. Parking Lot Taxis (टैक्सियों खड़ी करने की जगह) – Parking for taxis.

    6. Parking Lot Auto Rickshaws (ऑटो रिक्शा खड़ी करने की जगह) – Parking for auto rickshaw.







    Why Traffic Signs Matter in India? - Traffic Signs India mein kyon important hain?

    1. Road Safety (सड़क सुरक्षा)

    • India road accidents mein duniya ke top countries mein aata hai.

    • Traffic signs drivers ko warn, guide aur regulate karte hain – jaise speed limit, school zone, no overtaking.

    • Agar sab signs follow karein toh accidents kam hote hain.

    • Agar No Entry sign ignore ho toh traffic ulta bheed jaayega.
